Delhi, 6 Sept, 2022: Already prepping for 2024 elections, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called for the unity of all opposition parties to oust BJP from the centre. In this regard, he met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday in Delhi.
Kumar is currently on a three-day visit to Delhi during which he is likely to meet with several opposition leaders including Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Pawar, and Akhilesh Yadav with the aim to unite all parties against BJP.
The Bihar CM met with Rahul Gandhi at his Tughlaq Road residence in Delhi on 5th Sept as part of his opposition unity drive.
The discussion between the two was entirely on 2024 and the means to unite the opposition, at the end of which Kumar said that he has no ambition for the top post.
“It will be good if all the Opposition parties get united. I have no desire and no aspiration to become prime minister,” he said.
The two leaders discussed the current political situation in the country and ways to ensure Opposition unity.
Kumar is making attempts to bring all opposition parties together as a united force against BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
This was Nitish Kumar’s first meeting with Gandhi since his party JD(U) snapped ties with the NDA in Bihar and formed a Mahagathbandhan government with the RJD, Congress, and other parties.
The Bihar Chief Minister is also scheduled to visit Maharashtra, Haryana, and Karnataka soon on his ‘Mission Opposition’.
