Mumbai, Sept 6th, 2022: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently in Mumbai for a two-day visit wherein he held a meeting of BJP leaders on Monday during which he launched scathing attack on former Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray.
Shah claimed that Thackeray was responsible for the split in his party and the subsequent events. His “greed”, Shah said, was the reason a section of his party had turned against him.
While addressing the BJP workers in Mumbai, he said, “Everyone knew how Uddhav Thackeray cheated us in 2019. Those who betrayed us should be punished and lessons should be taught to them”.
He further added that Thackeray had not only betrayed his party and workers but also betrayed the people who supported him and voted for him.
Referring to the brawl between Shiv Sena and BJP in 2019 for the post of Maharashtra CM, Shah said that they(BJP) were honest and practiced politics in the open, not behind closed doors as Shiv Sena did.
Introducing Mission 150, Shah said that their aim is to secure 150 seats belonging to BJP and the “real” Shiv Sena alliance in the upcoming BMC elections.
Shiv Sena and BJP had shared an uneasy relationship since the alliance broke in 2014 over seat sharing in the run-up to the assembly polls which further deteriorated during the elections in 2019 for the state CM.
