New Delhi (13/10/2022): The Indian Army has put into action a road map to induct Electric vehicles (EV) focusing on reducing the carbon emissions. The Army will be equipping some units which will be located in peace stations with the EVs sequentially. This is done, keeping in mind the necessity and employability of the vehicles over the various terrains.
Since the Army will be procuring the EV’s through the capital route of the country, the deficiency of the buses would be completed by procuring the electric buses. A tender enquiry for the procurement for approximately 60 electric buses and 24 fast chargers will be floated soon.
Stations like Delhi Cantonment have already taken a step ahead by establishing the charging stations to support the EVs which are being hired or inducted subsequently.
