New Delhi, 31 October 2022: Soon after the Delhi LG Saxena returned the file, the Delhi government has resubmitted the “Red Light On, Gaddi Off” plan for the LG’s permission on Monday.

The paperwork has been sent to the LG office with answers to his questions, according to the Delhi environment minister, Gopal Rai.

“We used to run the “red light on, gaadi off” campaign to reduce traffic pollution in Delhi. LG has returned the file to us. He had some concerns about this initiative. We sent the file to LG again today with responses to each of these inquiries,” he added.

He continued by saying that the government had stated in its response to the LG that an emergency scenario was developing in Delhi and that all measures should be made to reduce the city’s pollution.

Rai further criticised the move, stating that the government had successfully managed the campaign for two years. “For two years, we had effectively executed this campaign. It is regrettable that we were unable to do it this year. There is a potential that pollution will continue to rise given the way that incidents of stubble burning are rising. I hope LG would give it serious thought,” he added.
