‘Japan Film & Music Festival’ returns to India amidst a Cultural Evening by ‘Japan Foundation’

New Delhi, 4th NovemberTo commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and India, Japan Foundation launched the JAPAN FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL at PVR Cinemas, Select Citywalk, Saket amidst, cultural programme, and attractions like a Special Mini-Cosplay Performance by Rara, Meghna Rawat, Ankita Mishra, Preeti Das and Anmol Deep Singh on November 4th .

The Japan Film & Music Festival returns to India after a three-year hiatus; the creative show will travel around the country, highlighting attractive shows like the recorded concerts of RADWIMPS, a popular rock band of Japan from their world premiere of ‘FOREVER IN THE DAZE TOUR 2021-2022’ along with ‘Your Name. Orchestra Concert’. The Japan Film & Music Festival will also showcase Makoto Shinkai’s animation movies including ‘Weathering With You’‘Your Name.’The Garden of WordsChildren Who Chase Lost Voices5 Centimeters per Second’ and ‘The Place Promised in Our Early Days.

The opening ceremony marked the start of the film festival in Delhi from November 4-6th along with the venue partner, PVR Cinemas. The festival is slated to move around the country, followed by Mumbai from November 11-13th, Chennai from November 25-27th and Bengaluru from December 9-11th. The tickets have been available through PVR Cinemas from October 19th onwards.

Director General of Japan Foundation New Delhi, Mr. Koji Sato, remarked “The Japan Foundation has been promoting cultural exchange between Japan and India through many attractive programs. This year’s film & music festival will bring in the best of entertainment that Japan has to offer, for the Indian viewers. One can get set for a musical and visual experience of Japanese culture not only through films, but also through music with RADWIMPS- the rock band which has been repeatedly awarded for their exceptional soundtracks.”

The cultural evening were attended by Chargés d’affaires ad interim of Japan to India, Mr. Kunihiko Kawazu and Ms. Shalu Sabharwal, Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, PVR Limited, apart from government officials and ambassadors. The festival in Delhi is working with Mamagoto and Coco Ichibanya as hospitality partners for the entire film & music festival schedule.
