No Indian Soldier Martyred or Injured In Clash With China At Arunachal LAC: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Dec 13, 2022: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that no Indian soldier has sustained severe injury or has been martyred in the latest face-off with China at Arunachal Pradesh Line of Actual Control as he addressed the Lok Sabha amidst uproar from opposition.
“In this stand-off, few soldiers on both sides suffered injuries. I’d like to share with this House that none of our soldiers died or suffered any serious injury. With timely intervention from Indian military commanders, PLA soldiers retreated back to their own location,” Rajnath Singh said in the Lok Sabha today.
He further expressed that the matter has been taken up with China and also attempted to reassure the House that the forces are committed to guard India’s borders. “This matter has also been taken up with China via diplomatic channels. I want to reassure the House that our forces are committed to guard our borders and ready to impede upon any attempt that will be made to challenge it,” Rajnath Singh said.
Earlier, Rajnath Singh had called for a high-level meeting following a clash between Indian and Chinese troops near Tawang at the Arunachal Pradesh Line of Actual Control. As per news sources, the meeting was held with Army Chief General Manoj Pandey and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Senior Air Force and Navy commanders were also present in the meeting.
