WH Day on 7th April. “Health for all” is the theme for this year | IMA to celebrate
World Health Organisation (WHO) Day is being observed on 7th April. “Health for all” is the theme for this year.
The Indian Medical Association is observing World Health Day as “Samarpan Divas”. We are committed to safeguard Health of the nation and would dedicate ourselves to ensure good health for all our citizens.
Indian Medical association (HQs.) is spearheading a massive campaign nationwide to elicit due attention for the health of the Citizens of India. All the states and branches (1750) through Its 4 Lakhs members have been requested to participate in the WHO campaign. This will consist of the following:-
- i)Walkathon: At IMA HQs in the morning from 6.00 am to 7.00 am a Rally will take place from Maulana Azad Medical College to IMA (HQs.) consisting of IMA members, nursing and healthcare workers, MSN/JDN with social leaders. The same will be organised by different State and Local Branches as well.
- ii)Seminar and Felicitation: A Seminar will be held with professional leaders, social leaders and opinion makers as participants. Seminar will discuss on WHO Daytheme and few concerns of the medical fraternity like violence and Integrative Medicine at undergraduate level.
iii) Shining Health: “Light a lamp/candle/Diya for the health of people of India”, all the 4 Lakhs members of IMA will light a lamp at 7 pm on 7th April. This is going to be massive campaign of ÌMA. All Doctors, students and health workers will ensure the same. The state and branch offices will make a video. Saying “ÌMA pledge to serve for the health of the nation. Long live ÌMA”.
- iv)Hoardings will be erected in prominent locations and other publicity materials displayed.
Ten selected Nursing Staff from all over the country will be felicitated with awards by the Indian Medical Association for doing outstanding work in the field of healthcare.
All IMA leaders will take up the mission with all zeal and emerge to occupy the rightful position as healthcare leaders of the country. We ought to strive for best health for our citizens and let World Health Day this year herald an era of good health movement led by IMA.
