New Delhi (India), April 10, 2023: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad claimed that Rahul Gandhi meets “undesirable businessmen” during his visits abroad.

The BJP has demanded an explanation from Gandhi regarding the alleged meetings.

This latest controversy comes just days after Rahul Gandhi took a dig at some leaders who have quit the Congress in recent years, accusing them of being associated with Adani’s companies.

In response, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has formed his own party after quitting the Congress, called Rahul Gandhi’s statement a “shame” and said that the entire Gandhi family is associated with businessmen, including Rahul Gandhi himself.

This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has been embroiled in controversy. He was convicted in a 2019 Modi-surname case and was disqualified from the Lok Sabha a day later. He has also faced criticism from within the party for his comments on Savarkar and is now facing trouble for his tweet about Adani.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that he will be filing a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over the tweet linking him to the Adani Group.

The ongoing political row involving Rahul Gandhi is likely to intensify in the coming days, with the BJP and other parties demanding answers from him regarding his alleged meetings with “undesirable businessmen.”
