New Delhi (India), May 2, 2023: Notorious gangster Tillu Tajpuriya, also known as Sunil Mann, met a gruesome end inside Delhi’s Tihar Jail early this morning. Tajpuriya was allegedly attacked with iron rods by members of the rival Yogesh Tunda gang, resulting in his death. Another inmate, Rohit, was also injured in the incident.

Tajpuriya was a key player in the 2021 Rohini Court shootout, in which rival gangster Jitender Gogi was killed. Two members of Tajpuriya’s gang had disguised themselves as lawyers and shot Gogi in the courtroom, leading to their own deaths in the ensuing police encounter. Tajpuriya had reportedly given the order to kill Gogi over a longstanding feud between their gangs.

This incident marks the second case of gang violence within Tihar Jail in the past month, following the killing of Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide, Prince Tewatia. The Delhi Police have launched an investigation into Tajpuriya’s killing and the breach of security that allowed rival gang members to attack him in his ward.

The shocking incident has once again drawn attention to the alarming state of security within India’s prisons, which have been struggling with overcrowding, understaffing, and other issues. The tragic end of Tillu Tajpuriya underscores the need for urgent reforms in the country’s correctional facilities to ensure the safety of inmates and prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
