New Delhi (India), May 4, 2023: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Vizag Tech Park on Wednesday. Adani Group MD Rajesh Adani and CEO Karan Adani were in attendance at the event.

The Adani Group’s 300-MW data centre in Visakhapatnam will permit the laying of an undersea cable from Singapore and help transform the future dynamics of broadband services, such as increased data speed and internet bandwidth, according to Andhra Pradesh government authorities.

The Adani Group is constructing two data centres, one of 200 MW capacity and the other of 100 MW capacity, in the Adani Group’s Rs 21,844 crore Vizag Tech Park. The Adani data centre would be the largest in the country, and the two data centres would be unique as they would run solely on green power.

The Chief Minister stated that the data centre will not only permit the building of an undersea cable from Singapore and help transform the future dynamics of broadband services, but would also provide job opportunities and encourage Visakhapatnam’s rapid development.

The 190-acre Vizag Tech Park would include a 200 MW Integrated Data Centre in Madhurawada and a 100 MW Integrated Data Centre at Kapuluppada, with investments of Rs 14,634 crore and Rs 7,210 crore, respectively.

The Tech Park would give direct employment to 39, 815 people during a seven-year period, as well as indirect employment to 10, 610 people.

The data facility would also aid Visakhapatnam’s transformation into a tier-1 city. More importantly, the Chief Minister stated that it would be powered by green energy.

CM Reddy also stated, “Its entire power needs would be met from renewable sources. The software industry would also get a big boost as it can fully capitalise on cloud services and facilitate more download speeds.”

IT Minister G Amarnath stated that the hyper-scale data centre will greatly enhance data speed and internet bandwidth, hence fostering the expansion of IT and IT-related businesses, creating high-tech jobs on a huge scale, and lowering service costs.

The Skill University and Skill Centres that will be established in conjunction with the Data Centre will promote skill development among the youth and improve employee lifestyles through the Business Park Recreation Centres.
