Accenture India Chairperson Rekha Menon to Retire next month

Mumbai (India), 5th May 2023: Accenture India has named Ajay Vij as Country Managing Director, a newly formed position. Sandeep Dutta will take over as CEO of the company’s India Market Unit.

Rekha M. Menon, Senior Managing Director and Chairperson of Accenture in India, will be retiring on June 30.

The new appointments will now take on the Chairperson’s major responsibilities. Ajay Vij will enhance his current responsibilities as the Corporate Services & Sustainability lead for India as country managing director to provide overall leadership and facilitate coordinated decision-making for key corporate initiatives.

Sandeep Dutta, the India Sales Lead, will now lead Accenture’s India Market Unit as the business lead, responsible for driving business and operations in the domestic market with a focus on growth, market differentiation, and clients.

Dutta’s responsibilities will be expanded to include working with local business communities and representing Accenture with local industry and trade organisations.

Leonardo Framil, Accenture’s Chief Executive Officer for Growth Markets congratulated Menon and said, “I want to express my deepest gratitude to Rekha for her more than two decades of extraordinary leadership. She helped build a strong foundation for Accenture in India across many aspects of our business and leaves behind an outstanding legacy of accomplishments and impact for our clients, our people, and our communities.”

Menon has held several roles in Accenture’s growth markets during her 20-year career. She was active in growing Accenture’s business, strengthening the company’s footprint in its communities, and building partnerships with important stakeholders such as industry, government, and clients as Chairperson.

According to the corporation, she pioneered the India corporate citizenship plan and championed the company’s inclusion and diversity goal.
