New Delhi (India), May 7, 2023: Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for their foreign trips during the country’s ongoing crises.

Sharif is currently in the UK for the coronation of King Charles III, while Bhutto visited India on Thursday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Goa.

Addressing a PTI rally from inside his vehicle in Lahore, Khan expressed his disappointment in the two leaders, stating that Pakistan was being humiliated around the world. He questioned Bhutto about the benefit of his India trip and whether he had considered the loss and gain of the country’s money. Khan’s comments came as the rally was held to show support and solidarity with the Supreme Court, Constitution, and Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial.

At the SCO meeting, India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, firmly stated that terrorism in all forms, including cross-border terrorism, must be stopped, usually a reference to Pakistan. He accused Pakistan of backing terrorists in Kashmir, calling out the Pakistan Foreign Minister’s position. Khan’s criticism of the foreign trips by Sharif and Bhutto came as the country faces multiple crises, and Pakistan’s reputation has been tarnished globally.

Amid the ongoing crises in Pakistan, Khan’s comments have brought attention to the need for Pakistan’s leaders to prioritize the country’s interests and address the issues at hand. The country’s reputation and future are at stake, and the leaders must focus on resolving the crises instead of taking foreign trips.
