Sangrur (Punjab), 15th May 2023: A Punjab district has summoned Congress chief, Mallikarjun Kharge in a INR 100 crore defamation case.

The case was filed by Hitesh Bhardwaj, founder of Hindu Suraksha Parishad Bajrang Dal Hind, who sued Kharge for defamation after he disparaged Bajrang Dal. He alleged that the remarks were made during the recently concluded Karnataka elections.

Congress marked a landslide victory in the Karnataka Assembly Elections, that the party leaders across the country hailed.

Hitesh alleged that when the Congress came to power in Karnataka, it linked Bajrang Dal to anti-national organisations and pledged a ban on Bajrang Dal.

‘I moved to court on Thursday after I found that on page number 10 of the manifesto, Congress has compared Bajrang Dal with the anti-national organisations and also promised to ban it if they win the election,’ he announced.
