New Delhi (India), 19th May 2023: Apple Inc (AAPL.O) has limited the use of ChatGPT and other external artificial intelligence applications for its employees as the company develops similar technology, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing a document and individuals.
According to the article, Apple is concerned about the loss of confidential data by employees who use AI programmes and has instructed its employees not to use Microsoft-owned GitHub’s Copilot, which is used to automate the creation of software code.
OpenAI, the ChatGPT inventor, announced last month that it has launched a “incognito mode” for ChatGPT, which does not record users’ chat history or use it to improve its artificial intelligence.
Concerns have been raised about how ChatGPT and other chatbots inspired by it manage hundreds of millions of users’ data, which is often used to enhance, or “train,” AI.
OpenAI launched the ChatGPT app for Apple’s iOS in the United States earlier this week.
