Actor Mangal Dhillon Breathes his Last

New Delhi (India), 11th June 2023: Mangal Dhillon, a veteran Punjabi and Hindi film actor-turned-director, has died. After a protracted struggle he died of cancer on Sunday. Mangal was hospitalised in Ludhiana where he breathed his last.

More information concerning his final rites is awaited. Mangal Dhillon died just a week before his birthday, on June 18.

Mangal Dhillon was born into a Sikh household in the Punjab area of Faridkot. He attended Panj Graayin Kalan Government School for his primary and secondary education.

He then relocated to Uttar Pradesh, close to his father’s property. Mangal graduated from Nighasan’s Zila Parishad high school in the Lakhimpur Kheri district.

He did commercial voiceover in New Delhi and Mumbai for a few years, as well as Doordarshan and radio dramas. In 1987, he was cast as Lubhaya Ram in Ramesh Sippy’s TV serial Buniyaad, which established his career in the Mumbai film and television business.

Following Buniyaad, he appeared in almost 25-30 Hindi feature films and television serials, including Yugandhar, Lakshman Rekha, Nishana, Vishvaatma, Khoon Bhari Mang, and Azad Desh Ke Ghulam, as well as Junoon, Panther, Ghutan, Kismat, and Noorjahaan.
