Karan Johar to be Honoured at British Parliament for Contributions in Entertainment Industry

Mumbai, 18th June 2023: At the British Parliament in London, filmmaker Karan Johar will be acknowledged for his services to the worldwide entertainment industry.
According to a statement released by Karan’s team, he will be acknowledged at the British Parliament next week in the presence of Lords and Members of Parliament for his essential contribution to the worldwide entertainment sector.
The ceremony will be held at the Palace of Westminster, which houses the Houses of Commons and Lords, the two houses of the United Kingdom’s Parliament.
Many of his films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, were shot in the United Kingdom.
In 2012, he was selected as a Visit Britain Goodwill Ambassador to promote and encourage visitors to visit and discover the nation.
Upon their premieres, his blockbusters ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’ smashed records as the biggest grossing Indian films at the UK Box Office. He is currently the CEO of Dharma Productions, one of India’s most prominent film production firms.
Karan, who made his directorial debut with the blockbuster ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998, is returning to the helm after a seven-year hiatus. He plans to release ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ on July 28, 2023.

This year marks his 25th year in the worldwide entertainment industry, which he will commemorate with the release of his upcoming film, ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ starring British India-born actress Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, which will be released in UK cinemas and globally on July 28.
