New Delhi, 1st August 2023: Just days after Elon Musk placed a gigantic X emblem above X (previously Twitter) headquarters, it was abruptly removed. The illuminated X mark on the roof of X’s San Francisco office has been brought to the ground. Neighbours to the headquarters complained repeatedly, prompting the relocation.

According to Reuters, the local building department received 24 complaints after the enormous X emblem was erected on the building’s roof. The revamped Twitter emblem was put on Friday and removed on Monday. Following numerous neighbour complaints about the invasive lights the company took down the sign.

Despite the migration of other companies, Elon Musk made a strong statement in favour of San Francisco, saying that Twitter will remain in the city.

Musk stated in a recent tweet, “Many have offered rich incentives for X (fka Twitter) to move its HQ out of San Francisco. Moreover, the city is in a doom spiral with one company after another left or leaving. Therefore, they expect X will move too. We will not. You only know who your real friends are when the chips are down. San Francisco, beautiful San Francisco, though others forsake you, we will always be your friend.”

According to the report, the city Department of Building Inspection confirmed that after the X structure was disassembled, building inspectors removed it.

The department went on to say, “The property owner will be assessed fees for the unpermitted installation of the illuminated structure.”

X, on the other hand, asserts that the letter X was removed voluntarily.

Elon Musk has managed to change the company’s name less than a year after acquiring the Twitter brand. Following the $44 billion transaction, the company was first taken private, and then it was disclosed that Twitter had been acquired by Musk’s X Corp.

The new renamed version of Twitter meets billionaires’ ambition of a super software app with functions ranging from basic social media and communications to banking and payments.
