Mumbai (India), 03/08/23: After a horrific time in Sharjah Central Jail in the UAE, Bollywood actress Chrisann Pereira has finally returned home to Mumbai. Her brother filmed the touching moment of her homecoming in an Instagram video, in which the 27-year-old actor was reunited with her family members and her dog at the airport.
Pereira’s nightmare began when two people hid narcotics in a trophy and convinced her to transport it to Sharjah. Chrisann Pereira arrived in the UAE city on the guise of auditioning for a web series, only to be apprehended by officials who discovered marijuana and opium hidden in the trophy.
Mumbai Police have apprehended the criminals, Anthony Paul and Rajesh Damodar Bobate, who hatched the conspiracy against her.
Pereira was imprisoned for a month before being freed and cleared of charges in April.
Her brother, Kevin Pereira, posted a video of the family reunion on Instagram. He initially stated that his sister would arrive in India on April 28 before stating that there was no set date, but she eventually returned yesterday night.
Pramila Pereira, her mother, was pleased at her daughter’s return and was recorded hugging and kissing her upon her arrival. She then reunited with her dog, who was waiting for her in the car.
Kevin Pereira captioned the post, “Chrisann is finally back & reunited with us I know I had announced in June that she would be back but it took slightly longer and she’s finally back.”
Pereira, known for her minor appearances in films such as “Sadak 2” and “Batla House,” was the victim of a scheme of vengeance devised by bakery owner Anthony Paul, who had a grudge against her mother.
Rajesh Damodar Bobate, Paul’s associate, pretended to be a talent consultant named Ravi, luring Pereira to Sharjah under the premise of an audition for a web series and sent narcotics with her without her knowledge.
Throughout the process, the actress maintained her innocence, claiming she was being framed in the case.
