Zeenat Aman congratulates Ranveer for bagging lead role in Don 3, shares special wish

Mumbai(India), 11/08/23: Veteran actor Zeenat Aman has expressed her support for Ranveer Singh, who will play Don in the third part of the iconic franchise Don. In the first two films, Shah Rukh Khan played the title character.

Ranveer will take over for Shah Rukh, who played Don in the remake of the iconic 1978 film Don, which starred Amitabh Bachchan in the signature role and Zeenat Aman as the female protagonist Roma.

Ranveer Singh recently wrote a lengthy article about realising his desire of being a part of the ‘dynasty’ of the famous film Don. Zeenat added a comment to the post, “Congratulations, Ranveer! May you find a ‘jungly billi’ to your Don.”

Don refers to Roma as a ‘junglee billi’ (wild cat) in one of the original film’s classic dialogues, which was preserved in the remake with Priyanka Chopra Jonas playing Roma.

The female lead in Don 3 is yet to be revealed.

In the post by Ranveer announcing his role he had written, “As a child I fell in love with the movies, and like the rest of us, watching and worshipping Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan – the two G.O.A.Ts of Hindi Cinema. I dreamed of growing up to be like them. They are the very reason I wanted to become an actor and a ‘hindi film hero’. Their impact and influence on my life cannot be overstated. They’ve shaped the person and actor that I am. Taking their legacy forward is a manifestation of my childhood dream.”

He further added, “I understand what a great responsibility it is to be a part of the ‘Don’ dynasty. I hope the audience gives me a chance and showers me with love, the way they have for numerous characters over the past so many years.”

Finally he concluded the post by thanking the filmmakers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for granting him with the opportunity to grace the ever-iconic role.
