New Delhi, August 14, 2023: The central government’s initiative, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, has garnered an impressive response, with more than 40 million selfies submitted by citizens across the nation. Set to run from August 13 to 15, coinciding with India’s 77th Independence Day, the campaign was launched following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for active participation.
PM Modi urged citizens to change their social media display pictures to the national flag, marking a “unique effort” to celebrate the momentous occasion.
The official website of Har Ghar Tiranga reveals a staggering count of 43,644,013 selfies adorned with the Tricolour. The portal’s homepage has been revamped to facilitate the uploading of selfies, offering two options: a selfie with the flag and a digital representation of the Tiranga.
Upon entering the portal, users encounter a display featuring photographs of Union ministers, actors, and athletes proudly displaying the Indian flag.
As India commemorates its second Independence Day of the Amrit Kal, a week of diverse events is planned. Alongside the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, solemn processions on Partition Day (August 14) will reflect on the tragedy of India’s Partition, paying homage to those who suffered during that tumultuous period.
On the Independence Day itself, PM Modi will host approximately 1,800 special guests from across the nation at the iconic Red Fort in Delhi for the flag-hoisting ceremony.
Amid the festive atmosphere, Delhi police have heightened security measures across the national capital in preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
This patriotic outpouring, characterized by the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, reflects the unity and pride of India as it approaches this significant milestone in its history.
