Mumbai(India), 17/08/23: Heavy rains have drenched Himachal Pradesh, killing 71 people and leaving many more missing. Nature’s fury has caused landslides in various districts, including Shimla, where three localities have been severely damaged, namely: Summer Hill, Fagli, and Krishna Nagar. Kangana Ranaut, an actor-director hailing from the hilly state, took to Instagram to express her concerns over the situation.
She wrote on her Instagram stories, “People in Himachal Pradesh facing rare catastrophe and there is no end to heavy rain and floods, mountains are sliding and collapsing everywhere and there is no electricity or water for days now, total system has shattered… my heart goes out to mountain people… and I am constantly praying for their well being.”
According to a PTI report, 214 people have died in rain-related accidents in the state since the monsoon began on June 24, with 38 still missing. The evacuation of individuals from flood-affected areas is being carried out with the support of Air Force helicopters, Army personnel, and the NDRF.
In the meantime, Kangana will next be seen in Tejas as an Air Force Pilot. The movie is based on the incredible journey of Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot.
Aside from that, Kangana will be featured in Emergency, in which she will play late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It is her debut picture as a sole director. Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade will also play important roles in the film.
