Teachers Arrested for Assaulting Students at Government School; Disciplinary Action Initiated

New Delhi, August 17, 2023: Two government school teachers have been apprehended for allegedly physically assaulting two class 8 students in Badagaon. The incident followed a dispute among students outside the premises. The accused educators, in addition to facing legal consequences, also face a disciplinary inquiry.

The incident unfolded when students of Upper Primary School in Badagaon engaged in a disagreement off-campus. The following day, Arjun Rajbhar and Shambhu Rajbhar, both class 8 students, were subjected to physical assault by the accused teachers.

As a result of the investigation led by Block Shiksha Adhikari Maniyar Mohan Kumar Singh, the school’s in-charge principal, Bhagwan, and assistant teacher, Virendra Kumar, were immediately suspended. The disciplinary inquiry ordered against the accused teachers is part of an ongoing effort to address the matter comprehensively.

The concerned father of Arjun lodged a complaint, prompting the arrest of the accused teachers. “A disciplinary inquiry has also been ordered against both teachers in this matter,” the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) announced.

Santosh, a school instructor who was also involved in the altercation, is facing repercussions with the suspension of his salary.

Furthermore, the investigation report from the Block Shiksha Adhikari revealed unsettling behavior by the accused teachers. They were found to have engaged in indecent conduct and made objectionable remarks about a female teacher at the school.
