Fire Scare Hits Mumbai-Bengaluru Udyan Express Upon Arrival at Bengaluru Station

New Delhi, August 19, 2023: A fire broke out in the Mumbai-Bengaluru Udyan Express shortly after it arrived at its destination station, creating a stir among railway officials and passengers. The incident occurred at around 7 am at the Sangolli Rayanna railway station in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The train, bearing the number 11301 and known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – KSR Bengaluru Udyan Daily Express, had just completed its journey. The fire was observed emanating from an AC coach, prompting station authorities to swiftly dispatch fire tenders to the scene.

Officials from the South-Western Railway revealed that the smoke was detected two hours after the train had already reached the station. Fortunately, the passengers had deboarded two hours before the incident, preventing any injuries or casualties. “Fire broke out in Udyan Express after it reached Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station. The incident happened two hours after passengers deboarded the train. No casualties or injuries. Fire engine and experts reached the spot and are assessing the situation,” stated South-Western Railway to ANI.

While the immediate cause of the fire is yet to be determined, prompt action was taken to extinguish the flames upon discovery.

A team of experts has been deployed to assess the situation and uncover the exact reasons behind the incident. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of railway infrastructure and equipment, prompting further investigations into preventive measures to avoid such occurrences in the future.
