Ghaziabad. At Mewar Group of Institutions auditorium, Vasundhra, Arihant Charitable Educational Trust organized a highly successful play cum Vichar Goshthi (Thought Meet) on Environment Protection, and a public release of Souvenir on the vital subject based on the ideals of Jainism. The programme highlighted the global concern on the critical contemporary issue.
Chief Guest Astro Uncle Pavan Sinha, founder of Paavan Chintan Dhara, expressed the view that humanity needs to be saved for environment protection. In the last two decades, the problem of global warming has assumed alarming proportions with glaciers melting away. He also stressed the need of a compaign for saving trees, food and water. Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chancellor, Mewar University, as president of the Vichar Goshthi, was of the view that man had become his own worst enemy by destroying the environment. Spiritual purification is the only solution. Senior Programme Executive, Delhi Doordarshan, Dr. Amar Nath Amar reaffirmed Shri Sinha’s view while eminent writer Dr. Prabha Kiran Jain, opined that inner purification was akin to environment protection. Environmentalist Dr. Amit Jain from Ferozabad enlightened the audience with Bhagwan Mahavir’s precepts in this regard. Dr. Sherjung Gang, the well-known writer for children, conveyed his feelings and messages through his poems.
The mega event opened with floral offerings and Lighting of lamps to Bhagwan Mahavir, Maa Sharda and Bharat Mata. President of the Trust, Dr. Alka Agarwal greeted the guests with bouquets, mementos and shawls. Dr. Agarwal in her address elaborated on the Trust and its objectives. A souvenir ‘Abhinandan’ was also released on the occasion. It was followed by a play “Boya Hua Beej” based on Bhagwan Mahavir’s teachings and ideals, directed and presented by the eminent Bharatnatyam dancer of Sadhana Natya Kala Kendra. It cast an enchanting spell on the audience. The Trust honoured all the artistes. The entire programme was successfully anchored and conducted by the renowned journalist and poet Chetan Anand.
