Galgotias University hosts International Conference on Recent Innovations in Biomedical Sciences

Galgotias University successfully hosted a three-day International Conference on Recent Innovations in Biomedical Sciences and Healthcare (ICBSH) focused on sustainable development.

The conference aimed to promote innovation and research in biomedical sciences and healthcare, featuring nearly 60 expert speakers from around the world and leading Indian scientists. The event provided opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between global and Indian researchers, giving students exposure to world-class research experiences.

Key International Speakers:
The conference featured international speakers from Germany, the United States, Nigeria, Brazil, and Sweden. Indian scientists and institutions, including IIT BHU, MNNIT Allahabad, Jamia Hamdard, NEHU Shillong, and NIPER Ahmedabad, also addressed the conference.

Key Activities:
A total of 215 participants registered, and 50 posters were presented. Over the three days, 32 online presentations took place, involving doctoral and post-doctoral scholars, clinicians, and faculty members. The first day’s key activities included a keynote lecture by Prof. Jagat K. Roy on ‘Functional Analysis of Rab 11 in Drosophila’ and presentations of 50 posters on biomedical science, biotechnology, and nutrition science. On the second day, the technical sessions were inaugurated with a keynote address by Prof. N. K. Ganguly. Prominent speakers from Germany, the United States, and India delivered important lectures on healthcare, curcumin-nanoparticles, and artificial neural networks.

Honors and Awards
During the conference, Prof. N. K. Ganguly and Prof. Jagat Kumar Roy were honored with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for their lifelong contributions. The Best Researcher Awards were given to Dr. Angamuthu Selvapandian and Prof. Ravi Prakash Tiwari, while Dr. Sandhya received the Excellence in Social Service Award. At the closing session, a total of 12 awards for the best oral presentations and 9 awards for poster presentations were distributed. The conference presented a new perspective on sustainable development in biomedical sciences and healthcare and inspired future innovations and research. It provided opportunities for innovation, research, and global collaboration, greatly benefiting students and researchers.

Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the university’s first international conference on “Recent Innovations in Biomedical Science and Healthcare for Sustainable Development” in 2024. Mallikharjun Babu, Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University, welcomed all participants to the “Recent Innovations in Biomedical Science and Healthcare for Sustainable Development (ICBSH)-2024” international conference. The event, held from September 2-4, 2024, was organized by the university’s School of Biomedical Sciences and other institutions, supported by ANRF and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He described the conference as an excellent platform for sharing knowledge and strategies in emerging areas of biomedical research and healthcare and expressed gratitude to all keynote speakers, reviewers, and participants.
