EPCH India Pavilion inaugurated at Maison & Objet 2024, Paris, France
New Delhi – 06th September’2024 – The Maison & Objet 2024 got underway from 05-09 September, 2024 at Paris, France with EPCH Thematic Pavillion namely “Indian Handicrafts – Magic of Gifted Hands”. The EPCH India Pavilion was inaugurated by Mr. Naveen Kumar, Counsellor (Economic & Commercial), along with Ms. Swati Sharma, Second Secretary (Commerce), Embassy of India, Paris, France; Dileep Baid, Chairman-EPCH; Mr. Rajesh Jain, Member, COA, EPCH; member exhibitors and other senior officials. It is a great opportunity for India to showcase Indian handicrafts in the world famous design oriented fair to create India as a sourcing destination for Handicraft Products informed by Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH.

Verma, Executive Director – EPCH said in this edition, 6 member exporters of EPCH are participating under EPCH India Pavilion displaying Home Décor, Gifts, Candles, Incenses, Household Products Decorative, Vases, Armchair, Side Tables, Bath Accessories, Trays and Eco-Friendly Products etc. To promote Indian Handicrafts, EPCH has setup Thematic Display with live demonstration of Indian Traditional Crafts by Master Craftspersons / Artisans. The office of Development Commissioner [Handicrafts] has deputed 5 Master Craftsmen of Kalamkari Painting from Andhra Pradesh, Pashmina Kani Shawl Weaving from Jammu & Kashmir, Thewa Art from Rajasthan, Stone Carving from Odisha and Mysore Rosewood Inlay from Karnataka.

Verma, Executive Director – EPCH further elaborated, “Maison & Objet Paris” is considered to be the gateway to designer world for last 25 years and major event for professionals working in the art of living in all its rich and varied expressions. More than 45000 visitors are expecting to visit from 88 Countries to fair. India’s participation will increase the fair’s vibrancy and diversity, as well as familiarise global manufacturers, retailers, and brands with the vibrant entrepreneurship in the Indian textiles and home furnishing consumer products industry, opening up opportunities for sourcing from India.
EPCH is a nodal agency for promoting exports of handicrafts from the Country to various destinations of the world and projecting India’s image abroad as reliable supplier of high quality of handicrafts goods & services. The Handicrafts exports during the year 2023-24 was Rs. 32,759 Crores (US $ 3,956 Million) registering a growth of 9.13% in rupee term & 6.11% in dollar terms over the previous year. The exports of handicrafts items to France during the year 2023-24 is Rs. 1048.92 Crores (US $ 126.68 Million) informed by Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director-EPCH.
