A team of officers of Crime Branch led by Insprs. Sandeep Malhotra and Sanjay Gade and consisting of SIs Pramod Singh, Nagender Singh, Devender Malik, HCs Sandeep Kumar, Shiv Veer Singh, Priyavrit, Surendra Malik, Pawan Kumar, Neeraj Pandey and Consts. Ravindra Malik, Rajeev Sahrawat, Naresh Kumar and Sandeep Nara under the supervision of ACP Hoshiyar Singh and overall supervision of DCP/Crime Bhisham Singh has apprehended a desperate and notorious interstate gangster involved in a case of abduction and murder of PS Burari of June, 2014. He along with his associates abducted Satish @ Kale Sindhi from Burari and then murdered him and disposed off his dead body in the area of Hapur, UP. He is also previously involved in more than 10 cases of Murder, Attempt to Murder, Gangster Act, robbery and Arms Act etc. of different police stations of Delhi and UP including a sensational Honour Killing Case of the year 2008 of Hapur, UP.
On 25.09.2014, information was received by SI Pramod Kumar that an interstate criminal and desperate gangster has his hideout at Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. On this information a trap was laid and the gangster was apprehended. He was identified as Varun Dev Tyagi @ Tarun Dev Tyagi @ Sonu Tyagi (aged 26 years) s/o Jagmohan r/o Burari, Delhi. He was arrested under the appropriate sections of the law.
Varun Dev Tyagi @ Tarun Dev Tyagi @ Sonu Tyagi was subjected to intensive interrogation. He disclosed that he is a property dealer by profession and had enmity with Satish @ Kale Sindhi (aged 36 years) s/o Bhagwan Dass r/o Jahangirpuri Delhi. In the late evening of 19.06.2014, he alongwith his four associates namely Sandeep r/o Bada Gaon, District Bagpat, UP, Sunny r/o Katha, District Bagpat, UP, Lokesh r/o Sant Nagar, Burari, Delhi and Pahalwan r/o Ballabhgarh abducted Satish @ Kale Sindhi from area of PS Burari and took him to his native Village Bada Gaon, District Bagpat, UP. He further disclosed that he got himself dropped on the way and his associates killed the victim Satish @ Kale Sindhi at lonely place in his native village and disposed off his body. After this incident, all of them fled.
Varun Dev Tyagi @ Tarun Dev Tyagi @ Sonu Tyagi is also earlier involved in more than 10 cases of Murder, Attempt to Murder, Gangster Act, robbery and Arms Act of Delhi and UP including a sensational double murder case of ‘Honour Killing’ of October-2008, in which he alongwith his associate had shot dead his 22 year old sister and her boyfriend Jitender in the area of PS Hapur Dehat.
Varun Dev Tyagi @ Tarun Dev Tyagi @ Sonu Tyagi belongs to Village Bada Gaon in Hapur, UP and has studied upto 10th standard in his village. He got involved in Criminal activities in UP and then shifted to Burari, Delhi.
The concerned police station has been informed about his arrest.
