Smart India Hackathon to Foster Startup India: KD Agrawal, UP Minister at Galgotias

Galgotias University hosted the Smart India Hackathon 2024 (SIH 2024), a national initiative under the leadership of the Prime Minister to drive innovation and tackle critical challenges. Chief Guest Kapil Dev Agrawal praised the event, expressing pride in the youth’s role in solving real-world problems and earning global recognition for India’s talent.

The five-day event brought together 300 students from nine states, working in 40 teams to address seven challenges posed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ministry of Jal Shakti, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Solutions ranged from blockchain and cybersecurity to disaster management and clean technology, with 12 teams emerging as winners. Prizes included ₹1,00,000 for standout projects and ₹25,000 as a consolation award.

Galgotias University Chancellor Sunil Galgotia and CEO Dr. Dhruv Galgotia played a pivotal role in the event’s success. Dr. Galgotia encouraged participants to innovate for societal welfare and emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Dignitaries including Mrs. Selvarani from the Ministry of Education and Galgotias University Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Mallikarjun Babu attended the event, which reinforced India’s commitment to nurturing young innovators for a developed future.
