CM Yogi Announces PM Modi to Inaugurate Noida Airport in April 2025

Greater Noida, 20th Dec: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, in April 2025. Adityanath made the announcement during a dialogue with farmers, revealing an increase in compensation rates for land acquired for the airport project.

The compensation for farmers providing land under the third phase of the airport project has been raised from Rs 3,100 to Rs 4,300 per square meter, a hike of Rs 1,200 per square meter. This adjustment addresses longstanding demands from the farmers, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.

During the open discussion at his official residence, Adityanath assured the farmers that their concerns would be addressed, emphasizing measures to support rehabilitation, resettlement, and employment for the affected families. The Chief Minister also instructed the CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Arun Vir Singh, to prioritize resolving individual issues, particularly those related to inheritance disputes that have delayed compensation distribution.

Adityanath highlighted the progress of the project, noting that a successful validation flight landing occurred on December 9. The airport is set to become India’s largest once completed and will feature a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhauling (MRO) facility across 40 acres to support global aircraft maintenance operations.

The Chief Minister also stressed the project’s impact on regional industrial development, job creation, and enhanced air travel and tourism. Key infrastructure improvements include enhanced connectivity with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, alongside plans for a high-speed rail station linking Delhi and Varanasi. Once the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) is finalized, travel time from Delhi to Jewar will be reduced to just 21 minutes.

Adityanath commended the cooperation of local farmers, noting that 1,334 hectares (approximately 3,300 acres) of land had been successfully acquired without disputes. He emphasized that the completion of the airport will serve as a catalyst for Uttar Pradesh’s economic and industrial growth, marking a significant milestone for the state.
