Dr. Uma Sharma, Chairperson, Kailash Group honored with National Award at BRICS CCI Women’s Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Program

New Delhi, March 8: Marking International Women’s Day, the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women’s Wing (BRICS CCI) hosted its 5th Annual Summit at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. The event focused on advancing women’s entrepreneurship and promoting economic empowerment across BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).

A key highlight of the summit was the announcement of a new initiative aimed at providing women traders and entrepreneurs with significant growth opportunities. The program will facilitate business expansion, networking, and cross-border collaborations, reinforcing BRICS CCI’s commitment to supporting women-led enterprises.

At the summit, Dr. Uma Sharma was conferred with the National Award in recognition of her remarkable contributions at both the national and international levels. Dr. Sharma, an esteemed obstetrician and gynecologist, is the Chairperson of Kailash Group of Hospitals and serves as a Director on the Board of the healthcare group. With nearly four decades of experience, she has played a pivotal role in expanding accessible healthcare services and empowering women through self-reliance. An alumna of Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University, she has dedicated her career to improving women’s health and well-being.

The event was graced by several prominent leaders, including former Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, former Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi, Ruby Sinha, President of BRICS CCI, and Dr. BBL Madhukar, Co-Chairman and Director General of BRICS CCI.
