New Delhi (25 May 2025): In an event held at Dr. Ambedkar Auditorium, students from across the country attaining International Ranks in Olympiad were awarded.
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) organized a felicitation ceremony to recognize & award the International winning students, teachers and principals of Olympiad exams held during the Academic year 2024-25. A total of 750 students and teachers attended the ceremony. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Shri J.K. Maheshwari, Judge Supreme Court of India.
Three students of Delhi also achieved international ranks in SOF 2024-25 Olympiad exam. Aura Aggarwal, grade four student of Modern School achieved rank-1 in International English Olympiad, receiving International gold medal along with certificate. In International Mathematics Olympiad Rahul Aggarwal of Bal Bharati Public School achieved rank-, bagged gold medal and certificate whereas Mayank Bansal of G.D. Goenka Public School achieved rank-2, won silver medal with certificate.
This year, around 2,26,200 students from Delhi participated in the SOF Olympiad exam including students from Delhi Public School, Pragati Public School, N.K. Bagrodia Public School, and many others.
During the event, the top three SOF worldwide rank winners from classes First to Twelve that participated in seven Olympiad exams were recognized. The 74 international rank-1 winners received Rs. 50,000 in addition to an international gold medal and a merit certificate, while the 74 international rank-2 winners received Rs. 25,000 as well as an international silver medal and a merit certificate, and 74 international rank-3 holders was given Rs. 10,000, a bronze medal, and a merit certificate.
Addressing the students, teachers and parents at the ceremony, Hon’ble Supreme Court Judge J.K. Maheshwari said that it is our primary responsibility to empower today’s generation with knowledge as well as values. Along with education, they also need to be given values, so that they can become nation builders. ”
He further said that knowledge is power, and dedicated teachers play an important role in shaping the future of students. Inspirational examples like Gitanjali Rao and Taylor Wilson show to what heights innovation and talent can reach. Those who carry the light of education within themselves, can never remain in darkness for long.”
Beyond celebrating the remarkable achievements of international student winners, the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) proudly extends its accolades to the dedicated principals and teachers from 72 participating countries whose students achieved exceptional international success.
Mahabir Singh, the Founder Director of SOF, proudly shared that the Science Olympiad Foundation has successfully completed 27 years of conducting Olympiad exams. During the 2024-25 academic year, over 96499 schools from 4000 cities across 72 countries participated in the eight SOF Olympiad exams, with millions of students taking part.
Students participating in the Olympiads are ranked at the international, state, and school levels based on their performance. This helps them identify their strengths and areas for improvement, giving them a clear understanding of their academic standing.
In addition to conducting Olympiads, SOF has launched various social and educational initiatives. Under the Girl Child Scholarship Scheme, 300 meritorious girls from economically weaker sections receive annual scholarships. The Defense Services Family Scholarship supports 260 students from defense service families based on academic merit. The organization also conducts training programs, academic camps, and exhibitions to enhance student learning. The foundation aims to recognize and encourage student talent and provide opportunities for them to excel on a global platform.
The event was also graced by prominent dignitaries including Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, and Dr. Satish Arya, Dean, CBLU, Bhiwani Haryana.
Each year, the Science Olympiad Foundation conducts eight Olympiad examinations: the International Computer Science Olympiad (ICSO), the National Science Olympiad (NSO), the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), the International English Olympiad (IEO), the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO), the International Commerce Olympiad (ICO), the International Social Studies Olympiad (ISSO), and the International Hindi Olympiad (IHO). These competitions are designed to promote academic excellence, inspire curiosity, and cultivate a spirit of healthy competition among students worldwide.
