GL Bajaj Hosts Patent Awareness Workshop to Promote Innovation and Intellectual Property Culture

Greater Noida (17 June 2025): To strengthen the understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and encourage a culture of innovation, the IPR Cell of GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida, organized a one-day Patent Awareness Workshop at the SBG Seminar Hall.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, researchers, and academic leaders, including the Director, Deans, Heads of Departments, and other senior members of the institution. The program began with the ceremonial welcome and felicitation of the dignitaries and guest speakers, setting a tone of academic engagement and collaborative learning.

The objective of the workshop was to equip attendees with essential knowledge about IPR, particularly focusing on patenting processes and the importance of protecting intellectual contributions in academic and research environments.

Two comprehensive sessions were conducted by renowned experts in the field:

Ms. Pooja Kumar, Founder and Director of Innove Intellects LLP, delivered a detailed presentation on the fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights. Her session emphasized the critical role of innovation protection in both academic institutions and the corporate sector. She highlighted real-world examples to illustrate the value of safeguarding creative ideas and research outputs.

Mr. Fetsi, a Registered Patent Agent specializing in the engineering domain, led a highly practical session on Patent Drafting and Prosecution. He walked participants through the step-by-step process of filing patents, drafting claims, and understanding the legal nuances involved in patent protection. His insights provided clarity on the procedural and strategic aspects of patent law relevant to researchers and technologists.

Throughout the workshop, the audience engaged actively with the speakers, participating in interactive discussions and raising pertinent queries. The sessions fostered a collaborative learning environment and increased awareness about the strategic importance of IPR in research and product development.

The workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Mr. Himanshu Nandanwar, Incharge of the IPR Cell. He expressed gratitude to the management, guest speakers, organizing committee, and all participants for their valuable contributions to the event’s success. He reiterated the institution’s commitment to nurturing innovation and integrating IPR education into its academic fabric.
