IFJAS 2025: Business Networking and Buyer-Seller interactions mark Day 2
Greater Noida/Delhi NCR – 5th JULY 2025 – A well-attended Best Display Awards as well as Felicitations Ceremony marked day 2 of the ongoing 19th edition of Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories show (IFJAS), at the India Expo Centre. This was graced by Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME in the august presence of Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Chairman, EPCH, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General in a role of Chief Mentor, EPCH and Chairman, India Exposition Mart Ltd.; Sagar Mehta, Vice Chairman, EPCH; J P Singh, President, IFJAS 2025; Mohd Rais, Vice President, IFJAS 2025; Members, Committee of Administration, EPCH:- Ravi K Passi, Raj Kumar Malhotra, O P Prahladka, K N Tulasi Rao, Avdesh Agarwal, Pradip Muchhala, Simrandeep Singh Kohli; Rajesh Jain, Salman Azam, Hansraj Baheti, Lekhraj Maheshwari, Prince Malik; Mrs. Ruma Malik, Chairperson, BAA as well as R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH and Rajesh Rawat, Additional Executive Director, EPCH. The Awards were given away in categories of Fashion Jewellery and Fashion Accessories. The Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Show gained strong momentum over the first two days, with 200 exhibitors actively engaging with buyers. Artisans made the most of the trade platform for exposure and learning, while ramp presentations showcased products from various participants. Designers also used the opportunity to forge new business connections at the show.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Chairman, EPCH, said, India’s diverse landscape has infused IFJAS with distinct cultural identities and a wide variety of products crafted from the country’s abundant raw material resources. Notably, regional displays featuring participants from across India are receiving well-deserved attention and valuable market exposure alongside well-established exporters catering to niche segments of the international market. Many of the showcased jewellery crafts boast a rich heritage, often passed down through generations as family traditions, now reimagined with contemporary touches to align with modern trends.”
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General in the role of Chief Mentor, EPCH and Chairman, IEML, stated, “the dynamism and capabilities of our manufacturers showcased at IFJAS make the show a true hub of opportunity, and our buyers agree. Product lines and production practices aligned with sustainability remain a key focus and are among the most sought-after at the event. With a strong commitment to building a more sustainable and ethical future, many exhibitors have introduced vibrant, eco-friendly collections. These include bamboo jewellery, cotton and jute lifestyle accessories, hand-painted artisanal apparel using natural dyes, bags made from recycled denim, waste cloth and paper, and fashion accessories crafted from plant-based fibres, all sourced responsibly during natural growth cycles.”
“Such thoughtful and innovative product lines are resonating well with buyers, drawing significant interest,” added Sagar Mehta, Vice Chairman, EPCH. He further said, “with emphasis on environmentally friendly supply chains for a sustainable, inclusive and thriving future, EPCH is guiding the Indian handicrafts industry toward responsible manufacturing and greener value chains.”
Gonzalo Plazas Diaz a buyer from Spain said, “I’m here to reconnect with my existing suppliers and I’ve also discovered some promising new ones for sourcing fashion accessories. What draws me back to India is the originality, creativity, high quality and uniqueness of the products. My experience here has been very positive, with several productive meetings.” Lizel Olckers, a buyer from South Africa shared, “I also truly enjoy working with Indian suppliers, their professionalism and warmth make the experience even better. While the sheer variety of designs can offer a lot to choose from, I’m focused on finding pieces that align with my particular aesthetic.”
J P Singh, President, IFJAS 2025, informed, “business interactions and exchanges are keeping participants actively engaged. The fashion shows have sparked considerable interest, with many visitors inquiring about the products featured on the ramp. A strong number of buyers, including many first-time visitors, attended the fair over the first two days and expressed interest in placing orders, both with their existing suppliers and new ones they met at the event.”
“According to feedback, buyers are particularly drawn to pieces that showcase intricate and labor-intensive handcrafting techniques. They believe this trend will gain significant traction across several key global markets for Indian products,” added R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.
Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture and fashion jewellery & accessories products in different craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2024-25 was Rs. 33,123 Crores (US $ 3,918 Million) and the exports of Fashion Jewellery and Accessories during the year 2024-25 was Rs. 6,252 Crores (US $ 739 million) registering a growth of 7.92% in rupee term & 5.64% in dollar terms over the previous year informed by Shri R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.
