Galgotias University’s Family Dispute Resolution Clinic (FDRC) Achieves Early Success in Promoting Community Peace and Justice
Greater Noida, October 6, 2025: — Galgotias University, in collaboration with the Police Commissionerate, G.B. Nagar, has announced the early success of its Family Dispute Resolution Clinic (FDRC), a pioneering initiative aimed at resolving family disputes through counselling and mediation.
Launched on September 4, 2025, and operational from September 18, 2025, the FDRC has conducted eight counselling sessions, addressing around twenty family dispute cases. Among these, three cases have been successfully mediated, resulting in amicable settlements, while preliminary counselling has been provided in other cases.
The FDRC serves as a neutral, accessible, and empathetic platform for families dealing with marital discord, custody disputes, domestic misunderstandings, and other interpersonal conflicts. The clinic is led by trained faculty members from the Schools of Law and Psychology, who work closely with parties to foster mutual understanding and lasting resolutions. Laxmi Singh, Commissioner of Police, G.B. Nagar, said, Community-based platforms like the FDRC, when combined with mental wellness initiatives, can significantly strengthen social harmony and justice.
