In the conference of Dr. Pritam Singh Memorial International Management Conference.

Dhananjay Singh, Director General of the National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN), spoke to Ten News Network on the sidelines of the ongoing conference, highlighting its relevance to the legacy and vision of Dr. Pritam Singh. He noted that this is the fifth edition of the conference, adding that the initiative is deeply aligned with Dr. Singh’s mission of fostering a better and more progressive society through enlightened leadership and collaborative growth.

Reflecting on the current geopolitical environment, Dhananjay Singh emphasized the increasing global engagement with the event. The kind of participation we are witnessing today is remarkable. It’s not just delegates from India, but representatives from across the world who have come together under one roof, he said, underscoring the conference’s growing international stature.

He shared that this year’s program brings together an exceptional lineup of thought leaders and domain experts. In the morning session alone, we had the ACT Chairman, followed by the Managing Director and CEO of Niva Bupa. Speakers from public sector enterprises, private corporations, and multinational companies are all here to contribute, he noted. This diverse gathering, he added, stands united by the vision and influence of Dr. Pritam Singh.

According to Dhananjay Singh, the discussions at the conference are centered around understanding the implications of the rapidly evolving socio-economic and geopolitical landscape. It is essential not only to think about the present but also to chart a clear path for the future. The challenges ahead require both strategic foresight and collective action, he remarked.

Addressing the relevance of management in public systems, he stressed that administrative services and management principles are inherently interconnected. Management is not a standalone concept. Whether it is the administrative services, revenue services, railways, foreign services, or police—every institution is built on management fundamentals. What may be needed is re-alignment and re-imagination of roles to match current realities, he said. He added that any possible reforms must ultimately enhance service delivery for citizens, which remains the core objective of all government services.

Dhananjay Singh highlighted the establishment of the Capacity Building Commission as a significant step toward improving administrative efficiency. He observed that the government is not only aware of the changing requirements but is also proactively leading reforms. This government is among the rare ones that are ahead of the curve. They are not reactive; they are proactive. Many initiatives are underway, even if people are not fully aware of them. Over the next 5 to 10 years, we will witness a transformative shift in administrative functioning, he added.

Speaking about the evolving competency landscape, Dhananjay Singh remarked that neither pure conceptual knowledge nor pure skill-based expertise is sufficient in isolation. The world of Aryan and the world of Ambani—symbolizing theory and practice—must come together. Concepts are crucial, but so is the ability to execute them effectively. Achieving the right balance is essential, especially in the Indian context, he said. He further stressed the importance of integrating both left-brain analytical thinking and right-brain creativity, suggesting that true leadership lies in harmonizing conceptual understanding with practical application.

As PRISM–FIMC 2025 moves forward, the conference will continue to host high-impact discussions on institutional transformation, workforce development, global competitiveness, technology integration and the evolving role of leadership in an increasingly complex world. The event aims not only to shape present leadership thinking but also to build a future-ready perspective for generations to come.

The conference was deliberated also by Dr H Chaturvedi , Dr Bhimaraya Meitry , Dr Ravi Jain and senior management leaders . Dr Pritam Singh Awards were presented to Dr Pankaj Bansal , R P Singh , Prof K R S Murthy and others.
