Farhan Akhtar pens birthday note for daughter Shakya: Love you to the moon and back

Mumbai, Aug 8 (IANS) Actor-filmmaker-singer Farhan Akhtar showered love on his daughter Shakya Akhtar on her birthday and said that he loves her “to the moon and back.”

Farhan took to Instagram, where he shared two pictures with his daughter Shakya, whom he lovingly calls “Sha”.

“Happy birthday Sha. .. love you to the moon and back,” he wrote as the caption.

Shakya is the daughter of Farhan and his first wife Adhuna Bhabani. The two got married in 2000 after being in a relationship with her for 3 years. They first met during the filming of his directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai, which also marked Bhabani’s debut as a Bollywood hairstylist.

The couple has two daughters named Shakya and Akira. In 2016, they announced their separation after 16 years of marriage and got divorced in 2017. Farhan started dating video jockey Shibani Dandekar in 2018 and got married in 2022.

Talking about Farhan, he made his directorial debut with the cult classic ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ in 2001, followed by acclaimed directorial ventures such as ‘Lakshya’ and ‘Don’.

As an actor, Farhan made his debut with ‘Rock On!!’ in 2008, and then went on to star in successful films including ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Wazir’, ‘Luck By Chance’, ‘The Sky Is Pink’ and ‘Toofaan’.

In July, Farhan celebrated five years of his sports drama Toofaan and wrote: “5 years since the storm took over. Celebrating #5YearsOfToofaan.’

Released on July 16, 2021, ‘Toofaan’ was directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Excel Entertainment and ROMP Pictures. The film stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role as Aziz Ali, alongside Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak, Hussain Dalal and Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles.

The sports drama revolved around Aziz Ali, a small-time goon from Mumbai who discovers his passion for boxing.
