National News (August 24, 2026): Gold prices edged higher in the domestic bullion market on Monday, August 24, while silver prices witnessed a marginal decline. Gold also gained in the international market, reaching its highest level in more than three months. Investors are closely monitoring global developments, including tensions between the US and Iran, as well as upcoming US inflation data, which could influence market sentiment and bullion prices.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures were trading 0.65% higher at ₹1,63,870 per 10 grams around 9:13 am. Meanwhile, silver futures declined 0.13% to ₹2,47,230 per kilogram. In the international market, spot gold rose 0.5% to $4,627.42 per ounce.
Gold and Silver Rates in Major Indian Cities
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,63,300 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,49,692 per 10 grams. The price of 999-purity silver was ₹2,46,720 per kilogram.
In Mumbai, 24-carat gold was available at ₹1,63,580 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,49,948 per 10 grams. Silver stood at ₹2,47,150 per kilogram.
In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,63,130 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,49,536 per 10 grams.
In Bengaluru, the price of 24-carat gold was ₹1,63,710 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,50,068 per 10 grams.
In Hyderabad, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,63,600 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,49,967 per 10 grams.
In Chennai, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,63,820 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,50,168 per 10 grams. The price of 999-fine silver was ₹2,47,440 per kilogram.
Gold prices are receiving support from a weaker US dollar and continued global economic and geopolitical uncertainty. However, retail jewellery prices may vary from these bullion rates depending on applicable taxes, making charges and other costs.
