UPITS 2026: FIEO, DG Ajay Sahai Highlights Global Export Opportunities for UP MSMEs

Greater Noida News (28/09/2026): The fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, being held at India Expo Mart & Mart, Greater Noida, is bringing together exhibitors, MSMEs and international buyers from across the globe, creating new opportunities for Uttar Pradesh businesses to expand their presence in international markets.

Speaking to Ten News Network, Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), described UPITS as an important initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Government that has continued to gain momentum with each edition.

Dr. Sahai said that buyers from more than 90 geographies have been invited this year, with over 600 international buyers participating in the trade show. He highlighted that the platform is giving UP-based MSMEs an opportunity to showcase their products before global buyers, generate business enquiries and explore new export markets beyond domestic demand.

He also highlighted the role of FIEO in facilitating business connections between Indian exhibitors and international buyers through reverse buyer-seller meets. According to him, FIEO is also working with several state governments to promote export diversification and help Indian businesses expand their footprint across global markets.

Sharing an update on business activity at the trade show, Dr. Sahai said that by the end of the second day, business worth around ₹3,000 crore had reportedly been generated. He expressed expectations that the total business generated during the event could reach approximately ₹8,000–10,000 crore by the conclusion of UPITS 2026. Dr. Sahai further appreciated India Expo Mart for providing world-class exhibition infrastructure and facilities, which he said are supporting the successful hosting of the international trade event.

With global buyers, expanding business opportunities and growing export prospects, UPITS 2026 is emerging as a significant platform for Uttar Pradesh’s MSMEs to connect with international markets. The participation of FIEO and buyers from across the world is further strengthening the state’s efforts to promote exports, diversify markets and position Uttar Pradesh as a competitive hub for global trade and investment.
