National News (11/10/2026): Zomato and Blinkit recorded a significant rise in their delivery partner network during the financial year 2025-26, with 3.1 million people joining the platforms to earn through delivery work. Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal shared the figures in a social media post, stating that the number of delivery partners increased by 57% compared with the previous financial year.
Highlighting the people behind these figures, Goyal said the growth represented more than the expansion of food delivery and quick-commerce services. He emphasised that each delivery partner has individual ambitions, responsibilities and personal goals that shape their journey in the gig economy.
Students, Entrepreneurs and Artists Among Delivery Partners
Goyal pointed out that delivery work attracts people from different backgrounds. Some individuals manage their college studies alongside earning, while others use the income to support their entrepreneurial ventures. Dancers pursuing their artistic interests and parents balancing professional commitments with family responsibilities are also part of this workforce.
According to Goyal, every delivery partner has a personal story and aspirations beyond their daily work. His remarks highlighted how flexible earning opportunities can fit into different lifestyles and help people manage their financial and personal commitments.
Special Song Created with Amit Trivedi
As part of the initiative to recognise delivery partners, Goyal also unveiled a song co-created with popular singer and composer Amit Trivedi. The track celebrates the workers, their diverse interests and the individual journeys they pursue alongside their delivery responsibilities.
The initiative aims to bring attention to the people behind the platforms and recognise their contribution to the company’s operations.
Eternal Eyes to Support Livelihoods of 5% of Indians by 2030
Goyal further stated that when Eternal’s employees, warehouse workers and their families are included, the company’s operations directly support the livelihoods of more than 1% of India’s population.
He expressed the ambition of increasing this figure to 5% by 2030, describing the target as an exciting milestone for the company.
Concluding his message, Goyal expressed pride in the delivery partners associated with Zomato and Blinkit. His comments placed the spotlight on the growing scale of India’s gig economy, the people who depend on platform-based work and the role delivery services play in supporting livelihoods across different sections of society.
