TRAFFIC ADVISORY – The Swearing – in Ceremony of the Chief Minister, Delhi on 14-02-2015
The Swearing-in Ceremony of the Chief Minister, Delhi will be held at 12.00 noon on 14.02.2015 at Ramlila Ground. A number of important dignitaries, general public and the media etc. are scheduled to attend the ceremony. In this regard, elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been planned to ensure traffic circulation, pedestrians’ movement, safety of visitors as well as that all the dignitaries and invitees reach the venue in time and the function is held smoothly.
Due to the ceremony, traffic congestion is expected in the areas of New Delhi and Central Delhi. These roads would be affected between 10 AM to 2 PM on 14.02.2015 (depending upon the conclusion of the ceremony). There would be restriction or stopping/diversions of the vehicles as per the functional requirements and ground situation. The main affected roads would be:
JLN Marg, Rajghat, Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Marg, Netaji Subash Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, DDU Marg, Connaught Place, Mandi House Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, Vikas Marg, Ranjit Singh Road, Bara Khamba Road, Parliament Street, Sikandra Road and Ashoka Road, Ring Road from Kale Khan to ISBT etc.
THE PARKING OF VEHICLES WILL BE AT FOLLOWING PLACES:-
- Parking for officials at Chaman Lal Marg, Asaf Ali Road.
- General parking shall be at Tagore Road behind Civic Center and Mata Sundri Road.
- General parking for buses would be at Power House Road, Veldrome Road, Rajghat parking, Shanti Van Parking, Service roads Rajghat & Samtha Sthal as per requirements.
- Media Parking at Tagore Road.
- OB Vans shall park on Footpath of JLN Mg. opp. Ramlila Maidan beyond gate No. 2 upto R/A Kamla Market.
Note:
- Only limited number of buses would be parked on Mata Sundri Road.
- All other buses carrying persons for the ceremony would be diverted to Rajght & Veldrome Parking.
The participants will firstly alight at places like Rajghat, Mata Sundri Road, New Delhi Railway Station or parking place and then will reach on foot to Ramlila Maidan. Vehicles of VVIPs and other invitees will be allowed to proceed upto Ramlila Maidan.
DIVERSIONS PLAN
No commercial vehicles will be allowed from:
(1) Delhi Gate and Rajghat to JLN Marg.
(2) R/A Kamla Market to Ajmeri Gate.
(3) Kamla Market R/A towards Hamdard.
(4) Paharganj Chowk and Y-Point Sheela Cinema to Ajmeri Gate.
(5) DDU Marg towards Kamla Market.
(6) Lahori Gate towards Ajmeri Gate on Shraddhanand Marg.
(7) K.G. Marg, Tolstoy Marg towards Guru Nanak Chowk via Ranjit Singh flyover.
SOW MOVING:
No slow moving Vehicles may be allowed towards Ring Road from the following points:
- Old Yamuna Bridge
- Power House Road
- ISBT Flyover Shastri Park
- Vikas Marg.
Buses including Chartered Buses will NOT be allowed on Ranjit Singh Marg towards Gurunanak Chowk.
No commercial vehicle shall be allowed on JLN Marg from Rajghat.
PUBLIC IS REQUESTED TO USE DELHI METRO RAIL.
Route for New Delhi Railway Station:
People visiting New Delhi Railway Station from East and North Delhi should take I.P. Marg, D.D.U Marg to reach Ajmeri Gate or Paharganj side of New Delhi Railway Station.
Route for LNJP Hospital:
People going to LNJP hospital will be facilitated to reach hospital through normal route. Traffic Police has been briefed to be helpful to patients and their relatives.
Motorists are advised to follow the directions of the traffic policemen deployed on duty to avoid inconvenience.
