NGO fails meal test
A case has been registered against an NGO in Noida on charges of using adulterated material for preparing midday meals meant to be supplied to schools. The case has been registered by the district food department after food samples, analysed in Lucknow, yielded negative results.
The department had lifted samples from the NGO’s base kitchen two months ago to test presence of harmful additives. According to department officials, the NGO supplies meals to many primary and junior high schools, mostly in Jewar block.
