SC issues Notices TO #CBI On Bail Plea Of Babu Singh Kushwaha
The Supreme Court have issued notices to CBI on the bail petition filed by Ex minister of Uttar Prades Babu Singh Kushwaha who is serving a jail sentence from March 3rd 2012 who was convicted in the multi-crore scam of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
A panel consisting of justices A K Sikri and U U Lalit asked response from CBI and has fixed the petition of Kushwaha for hearing on June 8th.
Senior advocate who was arguing for Babu Singh said that the convict is in prison for a long time and charges have also been framed in the case. The supreme court has suspended the bail petition of Kushwaha on February 13 claiming that the allegations against him were of very serious nature and it was a good case for dismissal.
The Bench allowed Kushwaha to go to lower court for bail if the trial did not start within 6 months. The minister has approached the Apex court in July last year against the Allahabad High Court order which rejected the bail petition of him in the scam which had taken place at the time of previous Bahujan Samaj Party Govt headed by Mayawati.
The scam is being handed over to CBI for investigation which has submitted a charge sheet against the culprits. The investigation is going on in a CBI court at Ghaziabad.
