#Ghaziabad proposes Metro loop with #Noida Sec 62
GHAZIABAD: Officials of the Ghaziabad Development Authority and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Wednesday held a meeting in which a plan to extend the Vaishali Metro line, along Link Road, till Mohan Nagar was mooted. A plan to link Noida City Centre-Sector 62 line with Vaishali-Mohan Nagar line was also proposed.
The only operational Metro line in Ghaziabad at present terminates at Vaishali. The plan is to extend the line till Mohan Nagar along Link Road. The proposed Mohan Nagar station is part of the under-construction Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand corridor.
The point at which the Metro line extending from Noida Sector 62 will link to the Vaishali-Mohan Nagar corridor has, however, not been finalized. “Discussions were held with other agencies as well to decide on a point on the Vaishali-Mohan Nagar line where Sector 62 Metro extension will link. The loop will be beneficial for thousands of commuters travelling between Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi. Metro officials have been requested to prepare a detailed project report for the loop,” said GDA chief engineer V K Goyal.
Other agencies which took part in the meeting were the UP Housing Board and the UP State Industrial Development Corporation.
