Security beefed up in #Gurgaon after #Gurdaspur terror attack

Security was beefed up across Gurgaon in view of the terror attack in Gurdaspur in Punjab on Monday morning.

Police has been deployed at crowded places, market areas, shopping malls, railway stations, metro stations and bus stands.

The bomb disposal squad, dog squad and Quick Reaction Teams have also been put on alert.

In a rare move, All Station House Officer (SHO) in Gurgaon have been asked by the intelligence wing to deploy armed security personnel outside police stations and question visitors and ask for their identify cards before allowing entry.

Apart from railway stations, security is also beefed up in crowded places such as Sadar Bazaar and Galleria market.

A security cover was also visible at the MG road where the recent shoot out took place, which claimed the life of an auto rickshaw driver.

“Officials have been briefed to be alert and vigilant, especially at crowded place. The focus, apart from police station, is on markets and malls. In malls, security team is deployed to keep an eye on the unusual activities,” said commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh Virk.
