New Delhi, 2nd AugDelhi BJP Media Incharge Praveen Shankar Kapoor has in a letter written to Delhi Chief Minister Sh. Arvind Kejriwal requested him to direct Delhi Jal Board to change water meters of all connection holders who have been forced to pay excessive amounts on the Average Billing Base as their meters are not working.

Sh. Kapoor has said that Jal Board’s billing records are computerised and it can easily detect thousands of consumers who are being made to pay on average basis for years together.

Most such consumers are domestic who want to get meters changed but the tedious process and corruption at Jal Board offices puts them away.

Sh. Kapoor has asked the Chief Minister to ensure a scheme so that instead of Consumer it becomes Jal Board’s duty to ensure that all water connection meters are working. The local Jal Board Zonal Revenue Officer should be held responsible if any connection is billed on average basis for more than 2 bill cycles.

This way on one hand lacs of consumers will get relief and benefit of free water scheme of Kejriwal’s government and on the other Jal Board will be able to realize its rightful revenue from thousands of connections where misuse might be happening.
