New Delhi – Aam Aadmi Party held a massive protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday evening against the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur by BJP leaders.  During this, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Convenor Gopal Rai said that PM Modi’s Central Government and the Adityanath government of UP are not ready to listen to the farmers, but are always ready to kill them by attacking them. There are three demands of the Aam Aadmi Party — the killers should be arrested immediately. Action should be taken against the BJP minister and a judicial inquiry should be conducted into the entire incident so that farmers can get justice.  If action is not taken against the BJP leaders and the killers, then the Aam Aadmi Party will fight a long battle for the rights and justice of the farmers. During this protest, a large number of MLAs, councilors and workers including Aam Aadmi Party MLA Atishi, National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, Chief Spokesperson and MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj were present.

Aam Aadmi Party protested at Jantar Mantar against the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur by BJP leaders.  The gathering paid tribute to the farmers by lighting candles in their memory. During the protest, AAP demanded that the killers of the farmers be arrested immediately.

AAP Delhi Convenor Gopal Rai said that the entire country is saddened by the way farmers were crushed to death using vehicles by BJP leaders in Lakhimpur Kheri. “On one side, the Central Government of the Bharatiya Janata Party has left the farmers to die on the road in harsh winters, deadly summers and unbearable rains for the last one year.  No one is ready to listen to their voice. The way this incident has happened in Uttar Pradesh shows that BJP is not ready to listen to the farmers, but is definitely ready to kill them and attack them.”

He said that at such a time, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided that it will strongly oppose the BJP’s actions. “AAP has three demands through this protest.  The killers should be arrested immediately, action should be taken against the minister of Bharatiya Janata Party and a judicial inquiry should be conducted into the whole incident.  So that farmers can get justice.”

Shri Gopal Rai said that Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was going there today when he was arrested.  “The people of the whole country who are standing with the farmers are being stopped.  A state of emergency has been imposed from which no one can speak.  BJP leaders will kill and no one can raise their voice, in a democracy there is a right to raise their voice.  That is why today we have gathered at Jantar Mantar.  If action is not taken against him then Aam Aadmi Party will go ahead with this fight.  Will fight for the rights and justice of farmers,” he said.
