In an expression of anger and protest, hundreds of volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party and many like-minded citizens of Delhi joined the SC-ST wing of the party in a major demonstration at BJP headquarters in Delhi today.
The anti-dalit mindset of the BJP was manifested in broad day light in Ramlila Maidan on Thursday when the BJP councillors manhandled and abused Rakesh Kumar, a Dalit councillor of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The demonstration held at the National headquarter of the BJP at Ashoka Road and was attended by AAP MLAs as well. Addressing the protestors during the occasion, the Convener of the SC-ST wing of the party MLA Rajendra Gautam said, “the BJP has a totally anti-Dalit mindset and it has shown it time and again. BJP always wants the society to divided in lines of castes and religion. By hurting the sentiments of the Dalit community BJP has further proved their ant-Dalit mindset.”
We have requested the SC Commission of India to take action against the perpetrators of crime against the AAP councillor. The guilty should be punished. The Aam Aadmi Party will continue to fight the anti-dalit mindset of any political dispensation without fear.
