#AAP party and its leaders have brought the level of politics to such a low that it is unbelievable—@AjayMaken.
The Delhi Congress workers and leaders, under the leadership of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Ajay Maken, today held a “maun vrath” (silent fast) at Gandhi Samadhi at Rajghat, to protest against the disparaging remark in his blog by an AAP leader against Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee. The Congress workers and leaders, wearing black arm bands, held a “maun vrath” at Gandhi Samadhi, with a prayer that God gives good sense (“Sadh Buddhi”) to the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal and Ashutosh.
Besides Shri Ajay Maken, prominent others who participated in the “maun vrath” were AICC secretary in-charge of Delhi Shri P.C.Chacko, ex-MPs Shri Sajjan Kumar and Shri Mahabal Mishra, former DPCC presidents Ch. Prem Singh, Shri Subhash Chopra and Shri Arvinder Singh Lovley, former Delhi Ministers Shri Haroon Yusuf, Dr Narendra Nath, Smt. Kiran Walia, ex-MLAs Mukesh Sharma, Hassan Ahmed, Mateen Ahmed, Amrish Gautam, Bhisham Sharma, Kunwar Karan Singh, Rajesh Jain, Vipin Sharma, Ram Singh Netaji, Anil Bhardwaj, leader of the Opposition in the MCD Mukesh Goel, senior leader Shri Chattar Singh, Shri Bhram Yadav and Dineshwar Tyagi.
Shri Ajay Maken said the very same Aam Aadmi Party, which took birth at the feet of Mahatma Gandhi at his Samadhi at Rajghat, was now insulting the very same Mahatma by a leader of the AAP party with disparaging remarks in his blog. He said the blog also cast aspersions on former Prime Ministers Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and Shri Atal Behari, and the “maun vrath” (silent fast) was to pray to give “sadh buddhi” to the AAP party, Kejriwal and Ashutosh. He said the political discourse by the Aam Aadmi Party has hit such an abysmal level that it cannot be even visualized how the AAP party, which swore by Mahatma Gandhi, could sink to such a low level.
Gandhiji’s quote that “I can retain neither respect nor affection for Government which has been moving from wrong to wrong in order to defend its immorality” aptly sums up the present state of the Aam Aadmi Party, which has been mired in immorality and corruption.
Shri Maken said it has now become very evident that there is a vast difference in the words and deeds of the AAP party and its leaders. He said there was perhaps silent approval of Ashutosh’s deplorable blog by the AAP party, Kejriwal and other senior leaders of the party, otherwise such a blog would not have been written. Shri Maken said the Congress party’s “maun vrath” was also to condemn the shameful act of former Delhi Minister Sandeep Kumar, but also against the shocking complaints against the Aam Aadmi Party leaders in Punjab. He said the Congress party has always followed the path charted out by Gandhiji to serve the nation selflessly, and it would not tolerate any disrespectful comments questioning the character of the “Rashtra Pitha” (Father of the Nation).
