Active south-west monsoon brings rain in UP

Lucknow, Jul 19 (PTI) South-west monsoon remained active over parts of Uttar Pradesh as light to moderate rains and thundershowers occurred in many parts of the state.

Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over eastern UP, the MeT office said.

While Kakerdharighat and Birdghat received 10 cm of rainfall each, Gorakhpur, Bhinga and Nighasan received 9, 8 and 7 cm of rainfall respectively.

Bansgaon, Kaiserganj and Dhaurana received 6 cm rainfall each.

The MeT department has forecast rain and thundershowers at a few places in eastern part of the state tomorrow.
