Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2017 is totally wrong: Manoj Gorkela Advocat

Intro: Today, we have with us Advocate, Mr. Manoj Gorkela, vice-chairman Lawyers of the World Association. He was appointed as youngest lawyer (additional standing counsel Government of India in year 2005 and known as most hardworking young lawyer. Apart from that, he is an excellent swimmer and shooter, won many medals in these sports.

While, talking to Ten News team, he spoke about judiciary of India and some other legal issues.

TN: What’s your reaction on proposed Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2017 and Bar Council has stated it against advocates?

MG: It’s totally wrong, it must be reviewed comprehensively and this is not appropriate to harass any advocate of India. This is the first time, this type of amendment would come into existence and it will decline the confidence of young and aspiring advocates, those who are future of our nation. I also stand with Bar council of India.
